"Re-skinning" is just the first step. There will be 10's of millions of dollars more needed before the various environmental/regulatory groups allow the public to even get close to Hangar One again.

I doubt that Congress will approve the money. Based on recent reports, there will be a 'Continuing Resolution' (CR) instead of the normal appropriations. This CR will fund NASA with last years funding. Any earmarked monies are likely dead for the foreseeable future. Maybe they can still pull this off but I doubt it.

I am hopeful that NASA will actually come up with the $20M and that Anna Eshoo will be able to come up with the $10M, but I fear that will not be enough. We need a local fund raiser, i.e., voluntary contributions. I, for one, am willing to contribute but the amount I can come up with would have to be matched by several thousands of others to make a really helpful amount.

I can easily think of a DOZEN major contractors that owe their existence to the work that they did for Moffett NAS.

They could " bring good things to life " using a chunk of their advertising budget...

Doug, voluntary contributions sound good. The hangar is really cool and nobody wants to lose it, but there are so many higher priority things that government needs to spend its limited budget on.
