Uhhhhhh...that's a COMPUTER he is "showing the interior" of not a hard drive. I am a bit surprised the author doesn't know the difference. Perhaps the person that wrote the caption would befit from enrolling in one of the rudimentary skills courses offered by Silicon for Society.
Props to these guys for doing a good thing & to the Voice for bringing attention to them.

What an ingenious way to reuse what would have been junk destined for the landfill or a 3rd World country.
I'm teaching my kids to use, reuse, and/or re-purpose what we have already before buying something new. We make a game of it, which makes it fun, and challenges them to think outside the box, rather than resort to the "buy new" reflex.
If you consider the amount of energy that goes into manufacturing, transporting, and selling goods, the easiest way to conserve energy is to wring more use out of what we have.
