Land buy would boost hopes for downtown grocery store

In a move that would make it easier to attract a long-desired grocery store downtown, the City Council is set to approve a $1.5 million purchase of three homes on Franklin Street Tuesday night.

Downtown traffic being what it is already, this sounds like a sure-fire prescription for daily gridlock.

There wont be a major grocery store downtown until there are more people downtown. We need more traffic and housing. Currently there are four small grocery stores in the downtown area but apparently minority owned grocery stores are not what the elites want.
