Six vie for three City Council seats

Three newcomers have decided to challenge three incumbents for their seats in the Nov. 2 election, hoping to change the city as a council member or to at least question the recent decisions of incumbents. The Voice sat down with all six candidates to ask about medical marijuana, the city's ongoing budget problems, housing affordability, high-speed rail and possibly sharing Google's property taxes with local schools, among other things. Here's a summary of the candidate's positions, in the order that they appear on the ballot.

The name of the Sporting Goods store @ 889 Castro street was Eddy's Sport Shop, founded by Greg's Grandfather Edward "Eddy" David in 1950.
Eddies was the name of the Quilting shop that was also on Castro street in the 80's and 90's until they moved to Sunnyvale.

If you followed the latest budget you know that firefighters did NOT make concessions to help the budget. The fact that Abe-Koga has their support, and that she thinks city salaries are average are both major red flags that she is not serious about keeping the budget under control.

While she has good intentions, we need more people willing to make hard cuts, and to insure that all city departments are treated fairly.
