The problem is that when 237S becomes Grant Road just after the intersection with El Camino, the right lane ends and becomes a turning lane for the Nob Hill shopping center. I always put my left blinker on and try to merge, but often no one lets me in and the cars behind me beep because I am slowing them down. Now I have to turn into the Nob Hill center and find a way to turn around in that busy parking lot. This is a huge inconvenience! Anyone else experience this? I've seen other cars struggling when I'm in the center lane and I always let them in. But today I was the one struggling and no one gave me a break. In fact one man sped up and risked crashing into me just to prevent me from merging into the gap in front of him.
Sorry to rant, but when a road is so poorly designed, then I have to make a public appeal to my fellow citizens to be nice to each other on that patch of Grant Rd. If you see a car stuck in that dud right lane, please let them in!!!! Why should they be forced to go circling around the shoppers and their carts in the Nob Hill/ Ranch Market lot? I once was forced into that lot, had to stop every few feet to let several shoppers cross, ended up in the back of the center by the dog groomer and violin store, took a right onto Phyllis then had to backtrack my way thru neighnorhoods (with ditches and speed bumps!) to get to Cuesta then back onto Grant. Come on!
