This is getting too easy. All a robber has to do is walk into a bank, present a note, and hopefully escape without being I.D.'d.

And with the job situation the way it is (and not likely to get any better any time soon)...I can completely understand why the have-nots are taking from the haves...welcome back to 1789, it seems, or raise the Jolly Roger.

The price that the robber will pay is high, chances the robber will get caught are high. The robbers choice not to use weapons when they are available on the street is what I would prefer. Why the robber made the choice to do the crime is another thing, perhaps a 99 er, in this case it would be a good idea to offer job seekers alowance as is done in many coutries, but that is up to congress and will take time and political effort. In fact I would like the city to offer any Mountain View citizen that shows up in the morning clean and sobber day work, paid at the end of the day. I assume the robber needed money, why not offer a legal option. Private busines gets many resumes and it takes time to be paid.

I fly the flag of a privateer, have had many a small business and it is what it is. Unempoyment is unavailable to small business owners that go under and many others. A privateer would not come in with a simple note, it's a poor persons methods. It would be two muskets and a couple of sabers. In 1789 it was legal, today we have legal small business. It was the not the USA that had the problem with privateers but other countries that the USA fought against. They did a good service to the country and many of them were from this country.

This is not about the Jolly Roger, but a poor citizen that most likely needed money. The actions sugest the robber was well aware that the use of a weapon would have resulted greater time in prison. The teller did the correct action, the robber will be known and arrested for a few dollars taken. Nobody died is great news. When the Jolly Roger was seen everbody died.
