'Pretty good chances' of finding alien life in next 25 years

Original post made on Aug 27, 2010

Based on technological advances and predictions made by luminaries like Carl Sagan, it is a "real possibility" that alien life could be found in our galaxy within 25 years, said Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at Mountain View's SETI Institute.

One important factor seems to be overlooked in the Drake equation. Personally we just might be alone as intelegent beings. Life on earth could not have existed without an large stabilizing moon so close. If our own moon was a bit further out our poles woud wobble as a top and like Mars, would have epocs of poles facing the sun. In fact in a billion years our moon will drift out to the point that pole wobble large amounts resulting that life on earth will become impossible for us. Our large moon is truely rare one would conclude.

Further our magnetic field for such a small planet may be a rarity.

That's my thoughts

ET phone...

Don't assume life to be only on planets... I predict that life will be found on a moon first.
