Employing humans to do jobs monkey robots could do. Great.

The thing I find most interesting about the "spinners" is that some of them are truly engaged in their work and perform with such verve it's almost impossible to ignore them. Others are literally just going through the motions.

I think "spinning" is a new form of theater. This could be a good part time gig for someone who wants to explore a career in the performing arts. "My one-man show was seen by thousands" would make a good resume line.

(For pure enthusiasm it's hard to beat middle-schoolers trying to drum up business for a charity car wash.)

I bet that Monkey Robots are more costly than Humans...

Also, the human factor is part of the experience. I don't think a sign rocked back and forth by a machine would get as many views.

I somewhat dislike them, only in that they are a distraction to passing motorists and often cause traffic problems, and they usually block the sidewalk to pedestrians.

Shout out to the Little Caesar at the corner of El Camino and San Antonio in Mountain View. I've yet to try their pizza but that goofy costume never fails to make me giggle.

I hold a sign in El Paso, Tx for a Payday Loan Company. I work 35 hours a week wearing my sign. I have two college degrees and am not stupid as some people assume I am. My sign wearing job gives me a good income in a bad economy and helps me support my two children and am not on welfare!I like my career and do the best i can each and every day.Sign wavers and spinners make an honest living and i am not ashamed to be earning a paycheck to. I am not ashamed of any signholders and I enjoy this job.
