The Parks and Recreation Commission did not disagree with the park layout (nor did it agree). The vote was tied (2-2 with 1 abstention).

The original Mariposa park design was totally broken. Putting the play area next to busy Mariposa Ave versus more towards the back of the park made no sense. On top of that, due to the size of the play area this was more of a playground than a park

Park land is purchased from fees collected from developers and new housing . The issue on Mariposa is between neighbors who dont want the play ground near their house and not because of design

John Doe: The Parks & Rec Commission entertained a motion to approve the conceptual plan. On a vote of 2-2 (with 1 abstention), the motion failed. Therefore, it can be said that the Parks & Recreation Commission did, indeed, disagree with the proposed plan.
