Sounds like he's really trying to do right by the businesses and neighborhood. Good job--I just hope that La Costena and La Bamba can hold out until the new building is up.

My brother who lives in Placerville goes to La Bamba when he visits us here in Mtn. View. He then greets us with La Bamba's great burritos...And yes the burritos are great...

I think everybody needs to be compliant. But I hope la constina & la bamba do not find a cheaper home.

Yea, Mountain view will screw it up. Just like cuesta park Annex, and Shoreline Park.

The building is near my office. Indeed, the burritos are very good, but the build is old and a real health hazard. It needs to come down before it falls down. La Bamba has repeatedly run afoul of the law due to zoning issues (too many tables, not enough parking). It would be best for everyone if the building was replaced, parking expanded, and La Bamba moved back in.

The neighborhood has some real seedy housing and people. In recent years, a lot of private money has come in to build some nice housing (SFR and row housing) which is bringing in young families, professionals, and other good people.
The use of taxpayer money to build "affordable housing" is unnecessary and would reverse the community improvements.

I said bad things about the thugs in my "hood". My bad. Where are my manners.

This is great news, glad to hear the the owner cares about the current character of the property. The businesses there plus residential space above gives it a lot of charm. And yeah the food at both La Costena and La Bamba are awesome.
