Owner's empty lot could be new home for the Bakotich house

The city's second oldest home may have a savior in Ellyn Berner, who was thinking about selling her vacant lot on Pettis Avenue before she opened the Mountain View Voice last week.

All this strikes me as two people/groups of people who really aren't good at planning. Someone buys a lot, then isn't sure what to do with it. A group of people buy a house with great intentions, but no plan or a bad plan on how to rehabilitate that house or even where it is going to have to be.

I don't see this ending well.

"The affordability of moving and restoring the home and whether the city will support the move are all up in the air to some degree."

Translation: Shakedown the city for some sort of historic preservation fund and watch the City Council coo and kaw all over it.
