Recession Tales: Get laid off, start a car company

Like many in Silicon Valley, Hong Quan was working away at a tech startup last year when layoffs left him without a job. "Why don't you start that car company you've been talking about?" he remembers his wife saying.

Sounds pretty neat. Marketing innovative car technology shouldn't be left to the existing big automakers.

Of all people, though, Jay Leno should have told Mr. Quan that Prong is a really bad name for a car--especially a diminutive one--given the slang meaning. The jokes practically write themselves...

Great project this guy has going for him! I could envision a lot of fun in one of these with a liter bike motor.
