Sounds like the council wants to create another dead-end OLD MILL SHOPPING CENTER, which also was composed of high-end shops. Look at how well THAT did.

"where would i want to walk?" Walking in that parking lot is the WORST as it stands today!! It needs a 4 way STOP sign at the front of Sears, for starters.
Any developer that doesn't see what a total mess the parking lot is, and a BORE the storefronts are, is fired in my book.
Oh, and they want to encourage outdoor seating at that busy intersection? Who the heck would want to enjoy their coffee over the noise of traffic there? Yeah, let me suck down some exhaust fumes with my espresso while I shout to my friend across the table about current events i.e. "this new development sucks doesn't it?"
Just what we need, another high-rise building. Just call Mountain View "Building View" because thats what we're all going to be looking at soon.

Sherry, the outdoor seating is probably for all the "day laborers" who loiter on the sidewalks and in the parking lots at this shopping center, looking for tax-free work. Perhaps they should also install outdoor toilets so that shoppers won't have to witness the current brazen displays of "when nature calls."
