No description of victims? Political correctness gone amok. Using inductive logic, the victims were either "Mexican-Americans" or "African-Americans", or some other sort of "hyphenated-Americans".

so you're implying that only minorities die in that neighborhood?

It doesn't matter what their ethnic background was they're still human.

"Using inductive logic, the victims were either "Mexican-Americans" or "African-Americans", or some other sort of "hyphenated-Americans"."
Using *deductive* logic, I think you can stop right there at "Mexican-Americans", due to the vast majority of the demographic in that area (and level of common criminality as shown by years of evidence), but even that is not certain, as we don't really know if they were legal citizens, now do we?

Male and Female is the visually obvious description. The bodies have not yet been officially identified, so their names and ethnic backgrounds have been omitted.
Arapio and the Eye, since you both seem to prefer speculative journalism to facts, why not make your own story and tell the police what really happened?

This is so sad. I really hope that it's not the owners.. who are an older ASIAN couple. I have been going to Vogue cleaners for YEARS and obviously would never expect anything like this to happen. Please people, refrain from talking crap. Regardless of what happened, two human beings lost their lives. It's really sad and since NO ONE knows the full story yet, there is really no reason to make up your own story.
Rest in peace to the two individuals who have passed.

Yes, the couple running that store are an older Asian couple...not only that, they do a HUGE amount of business with MVPD........if you were to go in you'd see dozens of MVPD uniforms hung up inside.

I am just saying that some people are not listed only because of their ethnic/nationality background. It is interesting to read headlines like
"Anglo suspect arrested for burglary" which assumes that all white people are Anglo-Saxon and "White male suspect arrested for burglary" when a white person is arrested. When "protected minorities" are arrested, the names and ethnic/nationality are not listed.

I am so saddened. I have been a customer for years and years and Joe and his wife were always friendly.

Ironically, a lot of MV cops use that dry cleaners for their uniforms. You'll see them there fairly often.

So now everyone is spinning the rumor that it was the Asian owners. You are all insensitive .

I am not "spinning [a] rumor that it was the Asian owners". I live a couple of blocks away and have heard from people that were close to the shop owners that it was in fact the two owners. Also, this was written in the san jose merc:
Police released few details about the crime and said it is unclear whether it was a double homicide or a murder-suicide. People at nearby businesses, though, said they had heard the deceased were the divorced owners of the dry cleaning shop, and that the ex-husband had shot his ex-wife before turning the gun on himself.

I was sent this by a friend that has been a MV resident for a long time. This was a shock to him and a concern...not a crime like breaking into a car or simple stuff. I live in urban Philadelphia where this happens too frequently and much worse. Those of you that are dwelling on the irony or racial/prejudice behavior or getting angered by the unimportant details that take you away from the reality of such a tragic loss of life, Shame on you...mourn and watch your neighborhood and make it so it doesn't happened again.......

Wow, what a terrible tragedy. Such sad news. We've been long time customers, first at Vogue Cleaners and then at Calderon Cleaners when we moved close to that side of town. The wife always pulled a treat out from under the counter for our kids.

To those that use the opportunity to use this and similar blog-type venues to sound off to your heart's content without having to worry that you might be identified, it is truly sad, but, knowing your pettiness and small mindedness, no surprise. These were very nice people, obviously not without their problems, but still, with children and people that loved them. I find it difficult to comprehend why I am wasting time writing this, but, just this one time, felt I needed to.

To ignorant "Eye"
I have owned the type of business in that neighborhood that you would think would be robbed quite often. In almost 20 yrs. here we have NEVER ONCE been threatened in anyway in this area, with as you say "level of common criminality as shown by years of evidence". I wonder where you get your evidence from? I'm here everyday and haven't seen it first hand. I hear that the banks downtown get robbed quite often, maybe it's the "level of common criminality as shown by years of evidence" that live around there.
They were my neighbors and well liked. Her Bible sits on the table next to the window where she read it every afternoon when I pulled up to park my car and waved at her.

For the record, the Mountain View Voice wouldn't list a person's race or ethnicity in a news story, just as we wouldn't include information about the color of person's eyes or size of his shoes, unless that information is somehow relevant to the story.
In most cases, it is not.

So, using 'deductive logic' or 'inductive logic' or whatever else "the eye" and "arpaio" use in place of actual intelligence, they are simply racist and completely WRONG in their deductions. Reasoning FAIL.

Regarding the comments above about "the neighborhood" please keep in mind that crime is not limited to one part of town. The bank (that used to be Downey Savings) on Grant and Martens was robbed a few times, and there was a murder at the (now closed) Blockbuster on Grant near El Camino.
My condolences to the family.

I await responses from Arpaio and The Eye on their knee-jerk identification of the victims given the update that the victims were the Asian-American owners.

Murder and then suicide....sad. Just off yourself if you're that messed up. No reason to cause so much hurt to the family and community. Better yet....go seek help and move on with live.
