Architect's words inspire City Council

In a council meeting intended to focus on the redevelopment of the Shoreline area Tuesday, famous green architect and designer William McDonough stole the show with a multimedia presentation full of big ideas and practical concepts.

Well said, McDonough's ideas are idealistic, but they provide a path to sustainability. Even if implementation of these ideas is not 100%, Mountain View would still be at the forefront of leading a change on how we think about how we live, work, and relate to our surroundings. I also agree that the City Council has the opportunity to turn these "ideas" into concrete solutions (pun intended) for the environmental problems our society is facing, and I encourage them to make policy decisions that support this. Also, green technology is not just about ideas and government policy, but also relies critically on how we as people act in our daily lives. We can help in this effort too.

awesome! I love the idea of Mountain View becoming (even more of a) model for mixed-use and innovative, green design.
