TONIGHT: MVLA to consider budget cuts

Trustees of the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District will convene at a special meeting this evening to discuss possible budget reductions for the 2010-11 school year.

Are parking permits at the schools still ridiculously cheap? I seems like a waste of valuable public resources to subsidize students driving to school.

"Among the proposals are reductions to summer school programming, reductions of various office and other staff positions, elimination of mileage stipends for administrators and a 1 percent pay reduction for all employee groups."

Thank you, Barry Groves, for having the courage to trim admin perks and stipends and trim down admin staff. If more thought like you, we wouldn't be in such a bad bind.
