The council's decision on whether to allow more than 200 apartments at 455 W. Evelyn Ave., across from the downtown train station, is being postponed as developers say they are refining the project. Specifically, Prometheus Real Estate Group says it wants to respond to concerns expressed at a City Council meeting last week about the removal of 21 affordable housing units from the project.

This is a bunch of pork barrel politics and horse trading. The project design was agreeded to and approved by the city at last DRC meeting. Then the developer and the MND report from the city are still playing games with bandage approach to fix it after it is built which is a very poor way to develop anything. The project was bad and it is now worse, refinement if a sick joke no one is buying. They whole gang is nothing more then group of fraud and outright lies.

A fire starts in an apartment due to an earthquake, water mains are broken, a fire storm starts in these high density areas, like along Evelyn Avenue, not enough fire trucks and no water tanks on them (remember the S.F. Marina – and we do not have fireboats here), then the embers will wipe out old Mountain View.

@Ben - Don't forget the plagues, locusts, pestilence, and killing of the firstborn children that this development will bring too. (It is Passover, after all...)

Can we blame this development for the financial crisis and Hurricane Katrina too? Oh, wait, even if it's approved it won't be built for another three years. Darn.

So The truth, The GateKeeper Policy of the City of Mountain View is NOT following the CEQA statutes is TRUE. The Proposal is flawed in such a corrupt way the city is not being neutral in way, shape or form. Such as it is the court may be the deciding factor.
