My condolences go out to his family... he was such a great guy! We used to work together. I just can't imagine the pain the family is going through right now! I hope they find the courage and support to recover. As parents, we are always concerned about our children, sometimes they don't understand that being out late worries us deeply because we are expecting them to come home safe and sound but some don't even make it back home alive. No one wants to plan their sons's or daughter's funeral that must be horrible. This was a very tragic inccident and unfortunately the ones in pain are his family and close friends.Rip Kyle.

I'm surprised this article doesn't provide information on this impressive young man, and perhaps the irony of his dieing in a traffic collision here 'in the states'.

The article is on the front page of Sat's Daily Post, and it certainly gave me pause.
The title of the article: "MV soldier dies in crash". (sorry, this paper is NOT online). He died only 2 days after coming home 'from the army'. He was on-leave. (It doesn't state whether he was overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan).
As readers know, one of the main reasons for death of our troops there are the improvised roadside explosives that blow up vehicles.

The article indicates it was likely fatigue.

Kyle, I miss you so very much. I am thinking of all the good times we shared together and the goofiness that was displayed among all of us. It is unbelievable that you won't be stopping by to call Kelly or Taylor a dumba--ever again. When I was so worried about you going into the Army you always told me "Mom don't worry, I'm coming home nothing's going to happen to me". Again I miss you kiddo....You calling me Mom instead of Loura...was so special. Your concern for the girls and your honesty with me. All the pictures on my kitchen Mac "photo booth" that you and Kelly took at different times when you were just silly and bored....the ones I'd stick my head into too sometimes. I MISS YOU!!! You and Kelly Prom 2008.....you two were such a good looking couple dressed up so nicely......our true religion jeans experience.....you and Kel's matching jackets....BBQ's soft air guns....(lol) the list just goes on and on and on......FOREVER! You are loved and truly missed. Thank you for being in my life and being my friend as well as my children's friend!

WOw I cant believe this really happened. Kyle, you will be truly missed. I will never forget our times in cooking or just hanging out with the gang. what was he doing at 2 in the morning? nothing good ever comes of being out so late, maybe he was coming home from a club in san jose? i will be interested to see if alcohol played a part in this, toxicology reports will come soon and i bet will answer alot to this so called mystery. thank you for serving our country so bravely.

I just wanted to clarify, for those who were wondering g what was he doing coming home at 2 in the morning. Kyle's civilian job was as a security guard at a local bar & grill. He was just back from leave, and earlier that day (as I am told by his fellow soldiers) an extensive workout. He was there to tell his civilian friends and coworkers the follow up of his journey. It is such a tragedy losing someone that made sure there was a smile on everyone's face! I will miss our little chats, and hanging out as well as you flashing your security flash light at me..... RIP

Kyle was an amazing person whose life was cut way too short. This is so sad. Thanks for your service, Kyle. My warmest thoughts go to Mom and brother.

to anyone that thinks it was because he was drinking this was nothing out of the ordinary for him to be out driving this late. to assume he was drinking because of the time the accident took place shows how ignorant you are.

I served with Kyle in Korea. I had never met him before then, but our brief time together there was enough to create a bond that continued after we came home. I remember how he arm-wrestled every one of the Koreans we were working with...and won. They loved him so much, their Sergeant Major bought him a Korean Maxim magazine to take home. He was the best PR rep the Army could ask for. It didn't matter that they couldn't communicate verbally--his smile tore down all walls. I can't believe he's gone and I miss him already. Your memorial today was awesome, man. We'll get some soju when I catch up with you.

till 2 in the morning at a downtown san jose BAR and grill 20 miles from home? add that in with the time difference and shame on his in my opinion. he is a hero but how can you say alcohol didnt play a part? im sure he wasnt drunk but he probably had a few beers celebrating his return home (who wouldnt?) im not judging just saying his "friends" should of came closer to him and not made him drive 20 miles to man jose.

You are both entitled to your opinions as to why Kyle was at 2:00 a.m. or what he may have eaten or drank while at the bar & grill. Unless you were with him to say exactly what he was doing, then you should keep your opinions to yourself. I know exactly what he was doing and that is all that matters.

Also, I know some people feel I took him home to early. I needed some help up here in heaven and I knew Kyle was the man for the job!!!
