Our officers do their best to keep the peace. Most of the time I find they are trying to keep us from harming ourselves with our own ridiculous decisions. If they've ever helped you, how about you send them a holiday card?

I encourage anyone who supports cutting Police Department staffing, wages, benefits to ride along and see what our public safety professionals actually do. Mountain View police officers and firefighters work hard to serve our community.

Hey Lloyd! Where is your seat belt? Oh is that why you ride a dirt bike now? $142.00 fine Sir! Please don't park your street legal off road designed vehicle illegally on the sidewalk on Castro street to catch people endangering their own lives by failing to buckle-up... I can think of numerous traffic violations that could be enforced while you waste the city's time and resources by enforcing a feel good law like seat belt enforcement on a street where the average speed is well below the posted 25 mph. My air bags probably would not even go off at such a low speed. Training and common sense people, that's all we are talking about.Go catch some bad guys...seriously.

The cops really do a good job in this town. You can't say that for a lot of towns: the cops I've met are friendly, courteous, and tactful. Good job MVPD.
