How about we enforce recycling centers to take identification of people submitting copper, the type of copper and qty.? Even photo ID?
Or lower the value of copper...

$32,000 worth of copper stolen, at $2.95/pound. That would be almost 11,000 pounds. If true, that's a lot copper to get down from a building's roof in the middle of the night, and to haul away.

Martin, that is not what they said.
"Wylie said. Estimates put the stolen wiring at about $1,000, and repairing the lighting system at an additional $30,000."
339 lbs, which is still a LOT of copper!
