Phone scam targeting the elderly resurfaces

Palo Alto police are warning seniors that a telephone scam from last spring dubbed "favorite grandson" has resurfaced over the past week.

How do the scammers get the phone numbers of elderly people?

Hmmm, several years ago my dau. phoned me from Tahoe. Her car "malfunctioned". I tried to wire her money and western union couldn't figure out how to do it. Nice to know someone has figured out how to do what we couldn't do then. Ended up well 'tho.
