The prettiest street in Mountain View?

Original post made by Catherine, Willowgate, on Feb 12, 2010

I agree with "Pretty", a resident of the Sylvan Park neighborhood, on Feb 11, 2010 at 4:01 am:

Now that we've heard about the worst, now I'd like to hear the most beautiful streets or areas in Mountain View. What streets or areas can be an example for the ugly ones to look to for inspiration?

Thank you! Drove up Grant Road today, passing thd field of yellow flowers and blossoms on the trees around Cuesta Park. Now that is a pretty sight!

San Antonio once it becomes Los Altos! All that money just makes everything look so much better! Even me in my rear-view mirror!

My vote is for Loreto St. (between Bush and Calderon). It's narrow, but the palms make it. When they're fully grown it will be even better.

And of course Eldora Dr.

I like Promethian Way and Jason Way in the Willowgate neighborhood. Beautiful trees and winding drive make it nice.

Phyllis Avenue in the fall when the ginkgo trees are yellow and the leaves are all over the place. Never cut these trees or you will lose your property value.

Loreto or Velarde in Old Mountain View.

Shoreline Blvd. once it enters the park.

By the way, for those who missed it, the ugliest thread was here:

Oh, one more nomination: the Stevens Creek Trail is a street of sorts, just one that has the beauty of not being used by automobiles.

Someone should stick up for Castro Street as well. Consider all the human watching possibilities.

I'll stick up for Castro Street! Especially with all the flowers the city plants in the roundabout - sometimes it's quite breathtaking. Most of Old Mountain View (Bush/Mercy/Etc) looks good, too. I like the fact that it is still mixed and hasn't all been "Palo Alto-ized" yet.
