It is the job of the schools to make the parents in the district care about the kids, to study with them, to instill morals and success in them.. Do you really think that by taking a kid from EPA and putting him/her into P.A. or Los Altos is going to change the kid ??? If that's the case, let's buy a house for every "deprived" family and move them into Los Altos Hills or Belmont.. Get real.. Make the teachers (and the school boards) sit up and fix their problems.. Not beg for money ...

What?? So parents in Palo Alto and Los Altos are only involved in their kids educations because their great school teachers tell them the need to be? And if you put that kid in a different school (East Palo Alto), that same parent would suddenly become uninvolved because the teachers let them not care any more? Following your logic that it's the schools job to make the families care, then putting a kid from EPA into a PA school would, indeed, "change the kid" because now the kid would be in a school that would "make the parents in the district care about the kids, ...study with them, ...instill morals and success in them." Your words. So you completely contradicted yourself.
