Original post made by cannabis advocate, North Whisman, on Jan 13, 2010

There is a movement to allow a local nonprofit wellness center to step foot in Mtn view to help our local medical patients in need of alternative medicine and free health guidance including fitness, eating right, and awareness meetings of using alternative medicine to help the elderly and other ill patients. There will be some issues regarding this non profit organization and they need local residents help. They will be offering cannabis as one of their alternative medicine. Here is an informational link that was found locally regarding cannabis. Please help our movement. Don't let "pot centers" be allowed to enter Mt. View!

You are so blind to the fact that this organazation is a wellness center that offers assistance to all patients. People look at one aspect of the company and automatically assume its a "pot club". This company is a state recognized non profit organization that pays all taxes and contributes back to its community by funding community events. Can you say that for yourself?

Pot leads to other illegal drugs and supports the violence on the Mexican border. It will only bring that violence here. Any one that doesn't agree, needs to stop smoking the stuff.

"Ira" and "Alice" shame on both of you! Every 10 minutes in the United States alone at least 1 person dies from either a horrific allergic reaction or from an overdose due to prescription drugs! In 10,000 years of WORLDWIDE cannabis consumption 0 people have died from an overdose or an allergic reaction! What is more dangerous???!!! "Dont allow pot centers to enter Mountain View" What a disgusting and unethical statement! People are suffering and we have the opportunity to help them, how dare you turn your back on the sick! It has been 14 years since the constituency spoke in favor of the Compassionate Use Act! Santa Clara County had the 7th highest approval rating for Medical Marijuana in the state! Out of 58 counties! Its about time those with disabilities, diseases, and disorders are accommodated and accounted for here in our county! I applaud and commend any individual who is standing up for the rights and health of those who are ailing! "Pot leads to other illegal drugs" Actually patients ingest or inhale Cannabis so that they DONT have to subject their bodies to hardcore prescription narcotics, doing illegal drugs wouldnt wouldnt make any sense now would it?? "Supports the violence on the Mexican border" Actually collectives must obtain their medication from patients who are associated with the facility! The street drug dealers that we currently force our patients to obtain medication from may contribute to the wars on the border though, GOOD POINT! ;) The abolishment of slavery, ending wars, womens rights, and the rights for the elderly and disabled, each seem to be moral lessons from a younger generation to its seniors. Within 20 years from now Cannabis will be added to that list. On behalf of all those great people who fought against those injustices, on behalf of all those who continue to fight, and on behalf of all those who will fight in the future.....here, now..we fight for Cannabis! Godspeed with everything geared towards the betterment of society and humanity.

Thank you for some real intellectual facts on this subject. People need to be enlightened on This subject and not turn a blind eye towards it. I have been a medical marijuana patient ( 5 years) and suffer from cancer. I have taken all the over the counter medicine for years prior to cannabis and determined I just cant handle the side effects. Cannabis has no side effects on me and helps me junction with everyday life. Im 65 years old and lived in Mountain View for 20 years. How can a gun shop be allowed down the street from a school? The city allows guns in the city but not medicine? Eddies gun shop was robbed some years back by young local children. Where do you think these guns went? The Mountain View city streets and surrounding neighborhoods. I would love to see this organization open with the intent to provide for the safety and health of the local community but better off by helpig the M.V. local patient base receive the medicine. I am all for it if done correctly. Thanks Louane

You are very welcome Louane. I am sorry about your current cancer condition and I hope that the "compassionate" city of Mountain View implements ordinances that would allow safe, affordable, and practical access to Cannabis for people like yourself. The National Cancer Institute announced in the middle of last year that 20-40 percent of cancer patient deaths are not a result from the cancer itself, but from malnutrition. For cancer patients specifically; Cannabis Indica substantially minimizes pain throughout the body, minimizes nausea, and allows individuals to sleep. Cannabis Sativa stimulates appetite, eradicates nausea, and allows patients to be motivated and active during the day. If those 20-40 percent of fatalities actually were ingesting Cannabis Sativa many of them would have not passed away from a lack of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. With unjustifiable motives, 40 years ago our Justice Department and the FDA placed Cannabis as a Schedule 1 "no proven medical value" drug which made it illegal to be prescribed by doctors, no matter how effective they believed it would be for their patients. Who do you think the intellectual and sick know are lying??? Thousands and thousands and thousands of years worth of civilizations around the world who utilized the plant and flower for medical and spiritual purposes, or our government???? Its devastating that our government has gotten away with blatantly lying about Cannabis to the American public and to the rest of the world. In my eyes, its MURDER!! Louane I hope that you remain strong and steadfast, help is coming. "Eddies gun shop was robbed some years back by young local children." Eddies had zero deterrents for robberies and burglaries. A properly run medical Cannabis facility should acquire a security system similar to a bank to deter any desperate person from attempting to rob the establishment during the day or burglarize it at night. 100's of medical Cannabis centers throughout the state have successfully operated for years now without incidents. Proper safeguards, security measures, policies, and procedures would ensure the safety of the patients and the surrounding community here in Mountain View. This can be done, this will be done. I wish you all good health, felicity, and prosperity.
