It's a metaphor for the Obama administration.

I am glad no one was hurt.

Your Obama comment: dumb/gratuitous/inaccurate

Well, I would go for "humor", "biting satire", or for you Harry Reid fans, "black humor". I'll give you "gratuitous" but not "inaccurate". Even the so called Progressives agree that it has been a disappointment.

Oh, well that explains it. Only a person who thinks Harry Reid is capable of "humor" could flatter themselves to think a remark this lame qualifies as "biting satire."

It takes high self-regard, and a tin ear for funny, but you and the good senator apparently share those qualities.

As for the comment's accuracy, "a disappointment" is hardly on par with someone losing their home. You want an analogy for a house on fire? How about 9/11, war for false reasons, erosion of civil liberties, Katrina ...

Or we could let someone's house burning down be just that, and work a little harder on our jokes next time.

I am nothing like the soon to be ex-senator. Reid is a thin-skinned politician with no discernible talent.

This story is about a family who lost their home, why all the sarcastic comments about politics and spare the air? What is wrong with you people? Did compassion go out of style in 2010?

It's saddening to know what's on the minds of some of my neighbors. First let me pray for the family who have been displaced from their home, and ask that we fellow Mountain View inhabitants will help them in any way we can. Food clothing and shelter can be shared within this community, but most of all we all need to reach deep within our hearts and share some love with those who are less fortunate. For the rest of the commentators not discussing how to help the family displaced by the fire, try and find a lonely corner somewhere to discuss your misplaced thoughts.
