The homeless people are not the real issue here, if the building is 'abandoned' as described the property owner should be fined for letting it deteriorate. Where is code enforcement? I would like to see an interview in the Voice with the head of code enforcement explaining what steps have been taken to address this issue. That place has been closed for almost three years ago (April 2007).

Just for the record... MV supposedly does have code enforcement....

You bet there is 'code enforcement' in Mountain View... They are partly responsible for Ron's Farmhouse "Bar" closing when it did. The other responsible party was the "new" landlord who kept raising the rent. How do you like the place now, Mountain View? Good Luck with everything from an former resident, business owner(2) and manager of Ron's.
