Needless to say, ever since November, Dr. Kao became an instinct celebrity. News media from all over the world, came to Mountain View, all striving to interview and look into the lives of Dr and Mrs Kao. Some even followed him around town, to document his daily retired live here in Mountain View.
While most of us embraced him with the utmost respect for his unbelievable contribution, there are folks who were upset, because the periodic filming of Dr. Kao's live around town, disrupted their daily routines. For example, I have heard of grumbling complaints in the Senior center, because folks do not want the inconvenience of rescheduling or relocating their daily routines, to accommodate a brief 30 minute filming at the center on Dr Kao.
While I understand that no one person is above any other, wouldn't it be great if we can put aside our personal interest for a brief moment? After all, it isn't everyday when we have a Nobel prize winner sprouting up in our city, and it would be the least we can do, to honor someone with such great achievements.
