Tear it down!!!!!

I would rather see them tear it down and build a set of town houses like they did over on Fairchild instead of re-conditioning the apartments. We finally got the ghetto out and now they want to bring it back...somebody say no. I hope the police department has some input. I remember that crime was off the hook with this complex.

The question is who will own it after it is fixed up?

Bay West joint ventured the acquisition, rehabilitation and stabilization of this 200 unit apartment project in suburban Phoenix with a local developer. Purchased this empty, failed condominium conversion and successfully executed a $3 million renovation, rebranding and re-leasing program. Rehab was completed within one year and stabilization was attained within 18 months. Property is currently held in portfolio.

I also would rather see town houses here, like the ones on Fairchild, but the new owner also says they intend to turn them into market-rate rentals, not BMR. So won't this help keep the property from returning to ghetto conditions? I live just down the street and pass by this complex several times a day, so I'd like to see something good happen here.

I'd also like to see a new name for the complex to remove any associations with the past ownership. The new owner plans to make it high-end and high-quality, so I'm willing to give them a chance to prove it.

When HUD came in and renovated the complexes at 570 S. Rengstorff and 2230 Latham, it seemed like it made an improvement in those properties, unless there's evidence to the contrary.

If they do something similar to the Meadow Oaks/Central Park conversion then I think that most people will be happy.

There is a growing need for housing in Mtn. View with all the current and proposed development (i.e. Moffett Field).

These buildings are like cancer in the neighborhood. It is funtionly undesirable for regular renters, so they were marketed to low income families. When a group of low income families move in the same block, crime and gang activities go up for some reason (No offensed please--it's just a sad fact).

I guess when people struggling finaciall would have little to no time to take care their children. Those children with little care from their children will define their way of living--often, they get into trouble faster than we could imagine because there is no rules or laws applicable to them.

Please, tear the builds down!

They should reopen the apartments
