As an avid walker, I applaud and appreciate this effort to make Mountain View even more walkable and bike friendly. About eight months ago, I started walking and riding my bicycle instead of driving as often as possible to do local errands, reduce my carbon footprint and improve my fitness level.

It would be easier walking if the bicycles weren't running me down on the sidewalks all the time. I believe the Castro St. sidewalks are supposed to be bicycle-free, at least per a sign I saw there, but I've never seen it enforced and bikes are going along there all the time. It gets especially tricky when someone is walking a dog.

some streets need to restriced the car parking hours in the morning so that bike riders have more room to ride a bike.

Shopping plaza need to have parking space for biker riders to park their car.

Especially for those who would like to see increased enforcement and expanded rules against bikes on sidewalks, as one of the City of Mountain View Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee members, I sincerely encourage you to attend our meetings (generally every month on the last Wednesday starting at 6:30, though we won't meet again until January 2010) to voice your concerns.
