Proposal would extend mayoral term to 2 years

Under a proposal being discussed by the Council Procedures Committee at 3:30 p.m. today in City Hall, the selection of a mayor in Mountain View could become a biennial event that would exclude some council members from ever partaking in mayoral duties.

I agree that we have no problem with the current Mayor scheme. Don't they have more important things to work on?

I must agree, the people should vote for mayor and make the term 2 yrs.

So the council members who support the idea of a 2-year term are those who have already been mayor, and the council members opposed to the idea are those who have not. How predictable is that?
