This story should give a location. At least a neighborhood. I start my commute at 7:30 so I could even have seen this suspect if he was in my area. More facts please.

This happened in a very quiet and safe community of town homes. It is truly shocking! A lesson to everyone to lock their doors.

Yet another crime near Rengstorff Park. How many is it so far this week?

It used to be a good area 25 years ago when I lived the apartments on Central and Rengstorff. The neighborhood changed when the illegals moved in. (Yeah, I know I am un-PC, but that's what happened.)

USA, it could be that cause and effect were reversed and the neighborhood went downhill first, then the only people willing to live there were undocumented immigrants.

The Rengstoff Park area seems to be becoming quite a hot spot. :(

It's a shame! And yes, that neighborhood is not safe, however not locking your door is an invitation to crime. Also, don't jump to the conclusion it was someone illegally here. Undocumented immigrants is a PC term and is not correct. Undocumented immigrants are criminals. Why? They entered the Country illegally thus making them criminal in their action. We don't know who the burglar was. Could have been one of many people that lurk in that part of town. There's a large "community" of street people of all races. Moral of the story - lock your doors people. This isn't some small town where it's safe to do things like that.

Bad economy = More crime. Its happening all over. A family friend that lives in Burlingame got a phone call from there local Police department,telling them to lock up. Rebuttal -- That is an excellent point about causal vs. correlations. However, I do believe that it was the increase in population density of illegals in the area that caused the downturn. The illegals as well as the legal immigrants from poor countries tend to be younger and much less educated that the typical Silicon Valley population that had been in the area. Changes in truancy, property crimes, an academic achievement appear to support that view.

Lock It -- Even during the Dot Com days, the Rengstorff Park area was in decline.
