TONIGHT: Mountain View Whisman trustees to hear enrollment proposals

This evening, members of the Mountain View Whisman school district board will hear proposals to address its new Basic Aid funding status. Administrators will discuss class sizes, transportation, inter-district transfers and school boundaries, among other topics.

To me it is a sad statement that when budget cuts are the subject they always look at things that directly effect the children - transportation, class sizes, cut programs, etc. They never look at the top by perhaps freezing the administrative management's (Superintendent, Assist. Super.) salaries. Perhaps make administrators share secretaries or take away all the perks, stop conference travel, stop providing food at staff meetings - all of it adds up....sacrifices always start at the bottom with the students. I don't think that is what tax payers envision when they pay taxes.
