Last Namesake of Lawson's Grocery Dies

Original post made by Beth Lawson-Hyland, Old Mountain View, on Sep 24, 2009

Thank you for your article on the passing of my father, Don Lawson. I felt like you captured the fact that he was a man of integrity. I do have two corrections that I think need clarification. The article mentions that the current Mountain View Public Library is built on the site of one of the many homes built by Don's grandfather. His name was Charles Lawson (not Clarence). The article also states that Don's grandfather was the city's first fire chief. Clarence Lawson was my father's uncle (Charles' son) and he was the first PAID fire chief of the City.

Thank you,

Beth Lawson-Hyland
