We have been smelling it for about a week in our neighborhood in the early evening hours. Glad to know that the smell is temporary and is not caused by a broken sewer nearby.

I do have a cousin that is extremely lactose intolerant residing in Mountain View. I read this story and immediately assumed he was the responsible party; he is forgetful and frequently fails to purchase Lactaid milk. I'll check in with him in case the city has it all wrong and it's not algae, but Al's brother.
