Council favors a passive approach to meadow

Ever since it became clear that the Stevens Creek Trail was going to extend south of El Camino Real last year, Mountain View residents have been dreaming up uses for the large, previously closed-off meadow along Highway 85 just south of El Camino Real. It now appears that none of those ideas is likely to come to fruition.

This would make a nice place for a lowkey park, lots of places have parks next to freeways, a little green some nice native plants, walking trails and a small playground, it would help of of the not enough parks problem.

The on-ramp to southbound 85 from El Camino should be restored to its original position, now that construction is done. Traffic now has to slow to a crawl for people making the tight turn.
