Council supports McKelvey Park flood basin

The Mountain View City Council appeared to support transforming McKelvey Park into a 15-foot-deep flood basin in a plan that would provide new baseball facilities there at no cost to the city.

This sounds great. Our house will be protected (maybe lowering our flood insurance rates), and teams get some upgraded fields.

New ball fields sound ok, but we need real grass. None of this fake stuff that wears out, gets dirty and looks like crud. How will real grass do in a sunken field. And what about drainage from rains.

The fake stuff is now better than grass which is why more schools are switching from grass. The overuse of grass fields makes them unplayable. Jsut ask the soccer groups
