Summer camps see shrinking enrollment

An uncertain economy has led many local parents to cut their kids' yearly summer camps out of the family budget — and camp organizers say they're feeling the pinch.

I'm sorry to see that kids are not having the camp experience as much as before. It seems like a right of passage, but indeed it is an option. I hope they are finding enough to do this summer.

Its tough all over. Maybe they should consider lowering their prices. 8 hundred bucks for 2 weeks was a lot before the recession. Guess they can play in the streets now.

For some of us, it makes it easier to wait a bit to understand what our schedules will allow, whereas in good economic times if you hesitated you just plain old were too late. However, I am sorry to hear that enrollment is down and I hope things turn around for all of us.
