I just want to say it is sad to see that the school is closing, I remember Mrs Brinks she was a special person to me always remembered when she would be in the office and i needed any thing she was there for me.I remember the trees we planted in the back of the field we all did as a class. Good luck to all the staff, And all the teachers that tought me so much. Kim

I stumbled upon this news due to reminiscing about my elementary years & all I can say is WOW! When I used to live in Mountain View as a kid I attended Slater & Ms. Kallas was my teacher in the 3rd grade (78-79)...I loved that lady; definitely one of my all-time favorite teachers...and that's a very SHORT list! I live in Dallas, TX now & always thought of going back just to see what the school looked like after all these years! Hard to believe that Slater is no more...I have some very fond memories of the school, neighborhood, & friends that I made while I was there!
