El Camino Hospitals now smoke-free zones

El Camino Hospitals — there are two of them now, one in Mountain View and one in Los Gatos — have officially become smoke-free zones thanks to a board resolution to eliminate all designated smoking areas there.

Interesting that El Camino Hospital's no smoking policy went into effect and just this morning (7/6) one of the construction workers was torching one up in the parking lot as I walked by with my dogs. Seems they need to pass the information on to their contractors.

Anybody notice any decline in respiratory ailments since this anti-smoking nonsense started back in 1985? No? I thought not. You can get away from my cigarette smoke, but I can't get away from the microwave bath that enables your silly cell phones...

Ever since smoking has declined in the U.S., heart disease and lung cancer have dropped off precipitously. There is no debate on this.

That said, I think they should just outlaw smoking altogether or leave us adults alone to make our own decisions. No smoking in bars? Dumb.
