TONIGHT: Minton's, Moffett and more for council

The City Council is set to take on four study session topics tonight: a proposed 214-apartment project slated for the Minton's Lumber site; the past, present and future of Moffett Field; the major concerns of the Human Relations Commission; and the unusual topic of taxi service in Mountain View.

Mintons would just close up shop---apparently it is the oldest business in Mountain View---over 90+ years that is still operating. Perhaps the city council has an idea of where to move the company within Mtn. View; but where would the lumber company fit? Good question.

Minton's is closing, competition from the big boxes
and the economic/real estate downturn at the same time
have taken their toll. I haven't heard of a definitive date
though.
