As one who has biked on this trail for at least 10 years, it's great that it's being lengthened, and the overpass will be helpful. It's sad, though, that so many biker users are so dangerously careless which makes biking on the trail somewhat stressful. To make ths situation even more troublesome, some wise parents are now getting their kids to bike to Landels school using the trail. Unfortunately there is rare police presence on the trail despite requests for police to patrol the trail - on bikes of course. I fear that a future "Voice News" article will report a serious accident - or death - resulting from some biker-caused behavior.

I'm so glad to live a city that exercises a strong vision for its members! I use the trail all the time, and so appreciate the physical and mental health benefits of it. Thank you Mountain View! See you at the ceremony this weekend.

The festivities at Sleeper Park begin at 11:00. South Bay bluegrass band 'bout Time! will be playing in Sleeper Park at 11:00 for the early arrivers from the trail or the neighborhoods and again at 12:00 after the dedication of the bridge.

I'm glad our trail keeps expanding and that the crossing at Moffett Blvd. has been made safer by the bridge addition. Too many bikers and joggers were crossing on red lights, it was just a matter of time before someone was killed.
There are too many wannabe Lance Armstrong's using the trail as a race track for time trials.

What a nice celebration last Saturday. These extensions are such a gift for those who want to exercise in the outdoors, and close to their home. Thank you to the City of Mountain View for investing in this wildlife corridor and showing the way to neighbor cities.
I posted some pictures of the event on my blog:

Enjoy them but, more importantly, enjoy the Stevens Creek Trail!!
