Rotary Club of Mountain View announces its 2009 Community Grant award recipients.

Original post made by Alicia Crank, Castro City, on May 26, 2009

The Rotary Club of Mountain View is happy to announce its 2009 Community Grant award recipients.

Our club was in a unique position of having nearly three times as many applications than previous years. We understand the role the country's economic downtown has in these requests, and the unfortunate effect it has had on our fund-raising. It is because of this that, while we've still been able to make grant approvals, we haven't been able to fully fund most of the requests. However, we were very happy to distribute over $10,000 in grants to organizations that serve the Mountain View community.

The following organizations/projects will received their grant checks during the month of May at Rotary meetings, which are held every Tuesday at 12:15pm at the Historic Adobe Building in Mountain View:

Challenge Team
Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC)
Family & Children Services
Community Center for Health & Wellness
Community Services Agency (CSA)
Just Read
Peninsula Youth Theater
Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA)
Friends of Deer Hollow Farm
Community Hope and Sober Events (CHASE)
Day Worker Center of Mountain View
Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF)
Mesa de la Communidad
Partners for New Generations
Red Cross Silicon Valley
