"Gotta love this manager. Hires the woman while she is on probation for embezzlement"

Where did it say that in the story? I read that the woman was arrested for stealing from the store, was charged with embezzlement and put on probation hold. What makes you think she was on probation BEFORE she got hired? Just curious if I missed something.

Read the article carefully. Before the incident at Jamba Juice she was already on probation for a different previous crime of forgery and grand theft. I think that her probation for the previous crime has ended and now she's back in the slammer for the first crime.

Still don't see it. Here's the text from the "full story" web link:

"A 26-year-old Mountain View woman was arrested by police on Monday for allegedly stealing cash and merchandise from her employer, Jamba Juice.

Over a period of several months, cashier Maria Mendoza allegedly stole $2,000 in cash and $1,000 in merchandise from the store at 1037 El Monte Ave. while on probation for grand theft and forgery.

Mendoza was charged with felony embezzlement and put on a probation hold."

Maybe there's another version of the story that I haven't read that said she was on probabation before being hired at Jamba.

Hey "Reader" -- It's as plain as day: she allegedly stole the cash and merchandise from the El Monte store "while on probation for grand theft and forgery." Did you skip over the "while on probation" part?
