TONIGHT: Council study session on budget cuts

Balancing Mountain View's budget may require some painful cuts this year, according to city manager Kevin Duggan. Tonight the City Council will review Duggan's strategy to address the city's $6 million deficit projected for next year.

$6million for this year is just the tip of the iceberg.

According to Mountain View Voice for Peace website, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have so far burdened Mountain View with $250million in future debt, and it will keep eating into city services for generations.
This is the price that the American people will pay for not speaking out. The quote by Edward R. Murrow comes to mind, "A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves."
