I'm not sure where to start. My older sister was renting a room in a house with her son. On Thursday evening it was on fire and burned. She lives on 1825 Springer in Mtn View. I live up in Redding, CA and wish I could be there for support and to help her threw this tragic time. I have gathered some clothes and money up here in Redding for her and the baby but at this time I don't have a vehicle that would make it down to the Bay Area. In 2004 I lost the place where i lived in the Jones Valley fire in Redding and then in Feb 1992 I lost everything in a fire in Redwood City.

Her parents live in low-income housing in Palo Alto at the Arastradero Apts. I know they cannot afford to help her or let her and the baby stay there to long or till she can find a place due to the rules. What makes me really sad, is that she is a single mom and is trying to get a degree at De Anza to become a social worker and lost her laptop and all her books, supplies, and everything they own. Thank god they were not in side.

Our there any programs that can help her or a way to get her donations for her and her son; to get a place to live or stay, clothing, baby supplies and food vouchers. She also lost some money she had saved in her room for school, another place to live, emergencies, etc. Please can you help or write a story to get her help. Is there a way to find her a place to rent that she can afford since she has little income. Her son wears 18 months and she is a size 18-20. Her name is Christine Lindsay 650-669-0629. So sorry to hear about your sister, Kristine. I do have some clothes that I will try and get together and somehow get them to her.

I am the Executive Director of the Housing Industry Foundation. We have a program to assist families with move-in costs after an unforseen emergency. If she has not already done so, she should contact the Community Services Agency of Los Altos/Mountain View at (650) 968-0836. They have various services to assist her and can help her apply to the Housing Industry Foundation for financial assistance when she finds another place to live.

This house belonged to my daughter's dad and his girlfriend. I am sorry this happened to them... I know what they are going through being homeless as myself and my family was homeless before.. If I had a bigger place let a lone a place of my own I would help Robert and courtney out.. They both know how much I love them... Love you both and you both are in our thoughts and prayers.

My name is Courtney Walters. I was the owners daughter and lived at the Springer house that burned down. I wanted to take this time to thank everyone who has helped us out. I cant thank you enough. The firefighters that helped with the fire, the police department ... Chilis for taking the time to help us out and Target.. and the Red Cross for all their help and support. Krys.. we will be ok.. we have each other and nothing happened to any of us. Smokey ( our cat that was put down on Sat after the fire) is pain free now... And BRi thank you for the nice note on here.. You know we love you guys too.. and not only did we loose stuff but Cheala did too.. so she is also a victim in all this... ( Cheala is Roberts daughter who had clothes and toys at our house she is 6 ) and to Wendy and the girls.. we will miss you as tenants.. I am so sorry for everything that has happened.And to Dave. you have been an angel to us... Thank you to all that i have forgotten. !!! god bless.
