Solar car wows local techies

Original post made on Feb 26, 2009

Google employees are fairly technology-minded, but even they were amazed by the strange car that appeared at the company's Mountain View headquarters Feb. 20, swarming around the vehicle and looking as though a UFO had landed.

Yeah, but it's his to waste. I would not invest $100,000 in such a project, but I admire him for pulling it all together. Kristal, there are probably a lot of wasted dollars in your daily life. Go worry about them. I wish there were some references to where we could get more information about this car and the technology that went into it or that was invented in its creation. Guess I'll just have to search for "Marcelo da Luz", which will waste more money.

There's a guy in our neighborhood with a solar powered tricycle and a dozen or so lead acid batteries strapped to a board over the rear wheels. He's got a few hundred dollars invested in the vehicle; but then, he only uses it to get around town, not to woo investors. I think of him every time I have to fuel up my gas-hog at a retail outlet of the oil/energy cartel.
