Monta Loma seeks unity with CEL

Looking for a way to get more parents involved and increase test scores, Monta Loma Elementary School has found for its role model a small San Jose school known by the acronym LUCHA.

I've seen this tried before in another district. Forced parent participation doesn't usually work. Good luck to them!

Not sure what schools to which you are referring, but most schools which require parent participation are very successful in comparison to the schools where parents drop off their kids and don't know what goes on in the school/classroom. Getting parents to participate in their children's education is never a bad thing even if it has to be "required."
