From 'Dog City' to cash cow

Amidst all of the vibrancy and prosperity today, it's hard to imagine that Mountain View's downtown was once as dead as could be, with numerous vacant storefronts and undeveloped lots.

In the 70's my friends and I referred to it as "The world's biggest dog-house".

Very informative and well-written article! As a relatively new Mountain View resident, it's nice to learn some of the history of this place.

I currently work in the building.
It is an amazing place.
