Mr. Gallito's understanding of sight lines is quite... creative. How does a 35 foot tall building NOT impact views of the mountains? Good thing it'll never get built. I'm also glad to see that he is utterly unconcerned at the overwhelming view of residents that DONT want a massive building on the site. If he ever runs for re-election, I hope that everyone remembers that!

Yup, you're plowing up the last piece of open land in Mountain View, so that people can see what Mountain View was like before they plowed up the last piece of of open land. Brilliant.

Even better, make it 35 feet tall so that people cannot actually view the mountain in Mountain View.

Oh and to really top it off, spend millions on "cultural heritage" displays so that Mexicans can feel good about themselves instead of spending the money on ESL, math, and science classes to give them the ability of earn something they could actually be proud of.

First of all this is not the last piece of "untouched" open land in MV. The building is situated near the tennis courts on the corner of the lot. There are several other obstructions NOT on the property (parking lot, lights, hospital) that also are in view. You are correct that if you stand next to the building and look at it, your view will be affected by the building. Try turning 180 degrees and look at all of the open space.

Cuesta annex is in the middle of residential neighborhoods. Most of these homes in this area are only one story. This 35 foot building is going to look like a monstrosity once built.

There have been many proposals for this parcel that were well thought out most of which I would be pleased with. The hardcopy article included an artist's rendering of a building that looks like a squished modern shopping center. I can't agree with anything like this. We should have something more of the period. I feel it should have at least the appearance of wood as stucco is mid-20th century and the turrets I can't identify with.
