The family that sells pot together... goes to jail together.

Good, I am sure there is room in jail for these thugs.
When will we ever learn from our mistakes???

Marijuana should be legalized. I don't care what the do in their own back yard.

I agree B, pot is practically half-legal already. Growing weed hardly makes these people "thugs." So many haters in this town.

The Voice should check out the facts in this case. Medical use of Marijuana is still legal California.

I was being sarcastic! They are not thugs! Jails are working with double the capacity. Our mistakes of locking up people for weed!
get it?

When people do things that are against the law, they are taking the risk of being caught by the law. We speed, use our cell phones while driving, roll through stop signs, smoke a little herb, just to name few. But, we are taking the chance of being caught. "Is it worth the risk", is what we have to be asking ourselves, no matter how small the offense(or large). In this economy, in these days...... is the hustle worth it?

There are pragmatic matters to consider if we punish people for every law broken, especially considering that we have a system of law and not justice. The cost of prohibition is substantial. This situation is exacerbate by the wide spread dissatisfaction with the particular law in question; you can't call a law "just" if a significant percentage of the population has broken it (40% has tried mary jane). You might as well just ban gay people. You can't prosecute everyone, jails are not infinite, and there are more serious crimes out there that should be pressed. Unless this pot deal was peripheral to another crime I just don't see the point.

The way we wish things to be do not match the way things really are.

Isn't this the same street where the Barrymore incidents occurred? What is it with this street and mary jane?

Daddy he once told me son you be hard workin man
And momma she once told me son you do the best you can
But, then one day I met a man who came to me and said
Hard work good, and hard work fine but first take care of head

I smoke two joints in the morning.
I smoke two joints at night.
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints,
And then I smoke two more

Alcohol is legal and look at all the damage that does. People are still drinking, driving and killing. How many smoking, driving and killing incidents occur? I don't care what these people do in their backyards. The next thing you know they'll be monitoring how many times we flush the toilets on a daily basis. People really need to mind their own business.

OK! all of the opinions are good and I can't really see speaking on the subject due to the fact that how can a person talk when their back yard isn't clean? Feel me, "you have to clean up your own back yard, before trying to clean up someone else's backyard. Think about it.....

Police bust pot growers because they are to fat and lazy to catch crack addicts. And the price of marijuana goes up as a result making it more lucrative for the Mexican Mafia to grow it in our National Forests.

Guilty till proven innocent? That's not right or fair. The media intentionally only reports half the truth, just enough to get people's irratioanl assumptions flying. Media does it ALL the TIME, but people aren't smart enough to catch on, as proved by of the other postings here. I'm sure there's more to this story than they're letting on. I doubt these people are as evil as they are assumed to be... By the way, this town, county, state, country, planet needs to grow up and admit that there is nothing worse about marijauna than that of tabacco, alcohol, aspirin, fire, guns, cars, and every else that is legal and actually CAN result in death if used improperly. How often do you of someone dying as a result of marijauna misuse? Not nearly as often as theother things listed. Hmm... Government needs a SERIOUS reality check.

PS: 7 police cars for 2 people?? Was there nothing more important for our tax dollars to be fighting against? Gang affiliation? Kids ditching school to buy cigarettes from liqour stores that don't card? Speeders in school zones? Red light runners? Drunk drivers? Just a few ideas. REAL crime doesn't take a break just because half the police department decides to be preoccupied with 2 people. Gee, I feel safe in Mountain View.
